 Fairly Big Farm

Riding Rings

Fairly Big Farm constructed their 160' X 70' indoor arena in 2010.  It is a bright and airy wood arena, with large functional windows, bright lights and dust free mixed-sand footing. It is a respite from the elements during both cold winter days, and hot sunny summer days.

We also have a regulation sized fenced grass dressage ring, and a show jumping area with a variety of jumps. Our passion is eventing, so we are particularly lucky to have an abundance of varied terrain on exceptionally well drained sand footing.

XC Park

FBF has a wide variety of grasshopper (intro!), and pre-entry to training level cross country jumps.  Most are natural elements which provide the perfect education for riders and horses who are new to eventing.  They also are an excellent learning opportunity for those in the hunter/jumper worlds as well. Every year we add to our selection of jumps.

Our Cross Country Park is also available to outside coaches and their riders.

Don't have your own coach?...Cross country coaching with Terri-Lynn is  available on a ship in basis.

Please contact Terri-Lynn Hughes for specific details and to book your visit to Fairly Big Farm's Cross Country Park.

Hacking

We are blessed with an abundance of trails and open spaces on the gently rolling hills of our property. All of our school horses are safe and experienced mounts for hacking. Learning to  ride outdoors safely and confidently is a huge part of what we do.

We also are situated in Uxbridge - the trail capitol of Ontario.  Fabulous trails are a short hack or trailer ride away!

You can always find a hacking buddy here.

Barn

Our renovated bank barns are safe, secure, bright and airy.  The stalls are sand base with rubber mats.  The horses can interact with horses beside and across from them as, rather than solid walls, we use bars and race gates on our stalls.  This makes for much happier horses. A variety of indoor and  outdoor tack-up areas are available.

The heated tack room provides individual lockers, a tack cleaning area, kitchenette and washroom.

A large matted and fenced wash stall is available just outside the barn.

Turnout

The paddocks are well maintained and cleaned regularly.  We provide run in shelters and heated water troughs throughout the winter season.  We offer primarily small group turnout, but private and semi-private options are available.

Horses receive hay 4 times daily:  Breakfast, Lunch, Turn In and Night Check.

Our paddocks are large and moderately hilly. Even the most sedentary horses will get exercise throughout the day as they move between hay feeders, water troughs and shelter.

Apple Picking

Our farm has an abundance of wild apple trees along our trails that provide tasty treats for both horse and rider while out and about.  We have a lot of fun reaching the highest branches from atop our
